Of these, 77.3% represented arrivals of Romanian tourists, and 22.7% represented arrivals of foreign tourists.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Regarding the arrivals of foreign tourists in tourist reception structures, the largest share was held by those from Europe &#8211; 74.1% of the total foreign tourists, and of these, 85.7% were from countries belonging to the European Union.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Overnight stays registered in tourist reception structures in October 2018 amounted to 2,297.4 thousand, an increase of 10.6% compared to those in October 2017. Of these, 80.4% represented overnight stays of Romanian tourists and 19.6% represented overnight stays of foreign tourists.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Regarding the overnight stays of foreign tourists in tourist reception structures, the largest share was held by those from Europe &#8211; 72.5% of the total foreign tourists, and of these, 84.9% were from countries belonging to the European Union.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>The average length of stay in October 2018 was 2.2 days for Romanian tourists and 1.9 days for foreign tourists. The net occupancy rate of accommodation places in October 2018 was 33.1% for the total tourist accommodation structures, an increase of 2.4% compared to October 2017. Higher occupancy rates in October 2018 were recorded in hotels (44.0%), tourist villas (23.0%), hostels (22.5%), tourist guesthouses (20.6%), motels (16.8%), and agritourism guesthouses (16.4%).<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Arrivals of foreign visitors to Romania, registered at border points, were 961.8 thousand in October, an increase of 5.9% compared to October 2017. The majority of foreign visitors come from countries located in Europe &#8211; 92.4%. Of the total arrivals of foreign visitors to Romania, 51.3% come from European Union states, and among the European Union states, the most arrivals were recorded from Bulgaria (28.4%), Hungary (25.6%), Italy (8.8%), Germany (8.3%), Poland (4.5%), France (4.2%), and the United Kingdom (4%).<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Departures of Romanian visitors abroad, registered at border points, were 1,557.7 thousand in October 2018, an increase of 3.3% compared to October 2017.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Road transport means were the most used for departures abroad, representing 61.4% of the total number of departures.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Arrivals registered in tourist reception structures in the period January \u2013 October 2018 amounted to 11,075.3 thousand, an increase of 6.1% compared to the same period in 2017.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Of the total number of arrivals, arrivals of Romanian tourists in tourist reception structures with accommodation functions represented 77.8% in the period January \u2013 October 2018, while foreign tourists represented 22.2%.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Regarding the arrivals of foreign tourists in tourist reception structures, the largest share was held by those from Europe (74.6% of total foreign tourists), and of these, 85.9% were from countries belonging to the European Union.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Overnight stays registered in tourist reception structures in the period January \u2013 October 2018 amounted to 24,848.3 thousand, an increase of 5.5% compared to those in the same period in 2017.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Of the total number of overnight stays, overnight stays of Romanian tourists in tourist reception structures with accommodation functions represented 81.2% in the first ten months of this year, and overnight stays of foreign tourists represented 18.8%.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Regarding the overnight stays of foreign tourists in tourist reception structures, the largest share was held by those from Europe &#8211; 73.1% of total foreign tourists, and of these, 84.5% were from countries belonging to the European Union.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>The average length of stay in the analyzed period was 2.3 days for Romanian tourists and 1.9 days for foreign tourists. The net occupancy rate of accommodation places in the period January \u2013 October 2018 was 33.3% for the total tourist accommodation structures, an increase of 1.2% compared to the same period in 2017. Higher occupancy rates were recorded in hotels (42.2%), bungalows (30.1%), tourist villas (27.2%), hostels (24.5%), accommodation spaces on ships (24.3%), tourist stops (22.2%), and tourist guesthouses (21.5%).<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>The most arrivals of foreign tourists accommodated in tourist reception structures with accommodation functions came from Germany (293.2 thousand), Israel (238.8 thousand), Italy (206.3 thousand), France (150.7 thousand), and the U.S.A. (146.5 thousand).<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Arrivals of foreign visitors to Romania, registered at border points, were 10,058.8 thousand in the analyzed period, an increase of 7.4% compared to the same period last year. The majority of foreign tourists come from countries located in Europe (92.3%). Of the total arrivals of foreign visitors to Romania, 48.9% come from European Union states. Among the European Union states, the most arrivals were recorded from Bulgaria (27.1%), Hungary (25.9%), Germany (8.7%), Italy (7.9%), Poland (5.6%), France (4.0%), and the United Kingdom (3.8%).<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Departures of Romanian visitors abroad, registered at border points, were 18,333.9 thousand in the period January \u2013 October 2018, an increase of 6.3% compared to the similar period in 2017.
