This segment saw the longest stays, up to 5 nights.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Over 28,000 Romanians chose to spend the winter holidays in spa resorts, similar to last year.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>This year, there was an increase in mountain areas, where 37,000 people opted to spend their New Year&#8217;s holiday in the mountains, 2.7% more than last year.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>The largest percentage increase was for New Year&#8217;s Eve offers at hotels in Romania&#8217;s major cities, with a minimum 2-night package for over 42,000 people, a 16.5% increase compared to last year.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Increases were also seen in the Danube Delta and on the coast, although the number of tourists in these destinations remains very small due to the limited number of heated accommodation spots.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Regarding the rates charged during the New Year&#8217;s Eve period, it is noted that they increased by an average of 4% compared to 2018.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>The most sought-after areas were Valea Prahovei, Poiana Brasov, Paltinis, Ranca, Straja, Calimanesti, Felix, and traditional rural areas like Bran-Moieciu, Maramures, and Bucovina.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Romanians who chose to spend their holiday break abroad had a choice between ski and winter sports destinations, city-break tourist packages in European cities, and distant exotic destinations.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Approximately 10,500 Romanian tourists used travel agencies to spend New Year&#8217;s Eve abroad.
