Foreigners spent 5.3 million nights in Romania last year, representing only 19% of the total nights spent in Romanian accommodation units, the lowest percentage in the EU.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>In terms of the total number of nights spent by non-residents, Romania also ranks among the last places, with only much smaller countries situated below our country: Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, and Luxembourg.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Based on the total number of nights spent in Romanian accommodation facilities, Romania ranks 18th in the EU. The largest increases in the number of overnight stays, besides Romania, were in Latvia (+8.3%), Lithuania (+7.7%), Malta (+6.5%), and Poland (+5.8%). At the opposite end, Luxembourg had the most pronounced decline, of 4.3%.
