Ionut Nedea, owner of the tour operator litoralulromanesc.ro, and his sister Anca Nedea, who led the National Authority for Tourism a few years ago, recently acquired the Opal Hotel in the Cap Aurora resort.<\/div>\n

Recently, the company Creative Eye, owned by Ionut Nedea and his wife, Andreea Nedea, purchased a 99% stake in the Opal Hotel in Cap Aurora from the Istrate family in Constanta for EUR 3.5 million. Subsequently, Creative Eye sold 40% of the hotel’s shares to Anca Nedea, Ionut Nedea’s sister, who will also manage the property.<\/div>\n

A few years ago, Anca Nedea was the president of the National Authority for Tourism, after previously holding the position of general manager at the Iaki Hotel owned by Gheorghe Hagi in Mamaia, as well as at the Europa Hotel, one of George Copos’s hotels on the coast.<\/div>\n

The Nedea family has begun making improvements to Opal, replacing mattresses and televisions in the rooms, creating several relaxation areas, including a playground for children, and renovating the 400 sqm terrace.<\/div>\n

The hotel will keep the name Opal, to which the new owners have added \u201cby the Sea,\u201d and will remain classified at 3 stars.<\/div>\n

\u201cWe intend to build a swimming pool by 2021 and switch to all-inclusive, maintaining the current 3-star classification,\u201d stated Ionut Nedea.<\/div>\n

The new owner explained that he chose to invest in a hotel in the southern part of the Romanian coast because this area has a very high growth rate of 10-12% per year, compared to Mamaia, which is only growing by 5-7%.<\/div>\n

Ionut Nedea estimates that the quality and price gap between hotels in Mamaia and those in the south will narrow in the coming years, so the investment in the acquisition and modernization of the Opal Hotel will be amortized in 10 years.<\/div>\n
