Thus, the City Hall institution wants to organize, between September 28, 2019, and December 15, 2019, guided tours of its headquarters near Cișmigiu Park, targeting students and retirees from the capital. The project is part of a tourism promotion program for the city.

According to the public consultation announcement, the tour will be organized on Saturdays and Sundays with free admission, the target audience being pupils and students from educational institutions in Bucharest, as well as elderly residents of Bucharest.

Thus, on visiting days, five successive 30-minute tours will be organized between 11:00 AM and 2:30 PM, for a maximum of 30 people per tour. Tours will be organized based on prior individual appointments (email/phone).

Built between 1906 and 1910, the Bucharest City Hall building is a Category A historical monument of national and European importance. Located at 47 Regina Elisabeta Boulevard, across from the main entrance of Cișmigiu Park, the building was designed by architect Petre Antonescu (1873-1965), one of the main promoters of the Neo-Romanian architectural style and creator of representative Bucharest buildings such as the Arch of Triumph, Marmorosch Blank Bank, the Faculty of Law Palace, and the National Archives Palace.

For this project, PMB intends to procure tourism services. The future provider must have the capacity to provide authorized tour guide services during the visit, specifically the services of a certified national tour guide with extensive knowledge of the Administrative Palace. The guide’s schedule will begin with the group pickup during the reference periods and visiting hours. The future provider must also be able to identify beneficiaries interested in visiting the Administrative Palace (students and seniors from Bucharest). Additionally, the provider will ensure road transport services with vehicles of appropriate capacity, specifically a coach with at least 30 seats (corresponding to a group of 30 people per tour), to transport visitors to the site during the reference period according to the schedule.

Furthermore, the provider will produce informative and promotional materials to be distributed free of charge to visitors during the tour.

Source: Profit

Frequently Asked Questions

Who can participate in the Bucharest City Hall tours?

The tours are specifically designed for pupils, students, and elderly residents living in Bucharest.

When do the tours take place and how much do they cost?

Tours are held on Saturdays and Sundays between 11:00 AM and 2:30 PM, and admission is free of charge.

Is prior registration required for the visit?

Yes, visitors must make an individual appointment in advance via email or telephone to participate in the 30-minute guided tours.

Bucharest City Hall (PMB) intends to implement the experience of major European cities like Vienna, Paris, or London, which attract numerous tourists by organizing visits to their institutional headquarters.
