The permit was renewed for 2 years, until November 14, 2021.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>In parallel, US authorities approved a similar request submitted by Just Us Air, which thus became the second Romanian airline to obtain permission to operate flights in the US. Just Us Air is a private air carrier established in 2017.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>TAROM has said several times in recent years that it wants to resume direct flights to the US, interrupted in 2003. In October 2019, the company&#8217;s former director, Madalina Mezei, stated that TAROM could relaunch flights to the US starting in May 2020.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>TAROM has already submitted requests for flight slots at New York JFK, New York Newark, and Chicago O\u2019Hare airports.
