The net occupancy rate in April 2020 was 8.3% for total tourist accommodation structures, a 19.5% decrease compared to April 2019. Higher occupancy rates in April 2020 were recorded in hostels (15.6%), motels (14.7%), tourist villas (12.5%), tourist guesthouses (10.7%), agritourism guesthouses (9.5%), and hotels (6.9%).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Foreign visitor arrivals to Romania, recorded at border points, were 144.3 thousand in April 2020, an 83.3% decrease compared to April 2019. Road and sea transport were the most used for arrivals from abroad, representing 93.3% and 4.9% of the total number of arrivals, respectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Romanian visitor departures abroad, recorded at border points, were 141.3 thousand in April 2020, a 91.8% decrease compared to April 2019. Road and air transport were the most used for departures abroad, representing 77.1% and 21.5% of the total number of departures, respectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Arrivals recorded in tourist reception structures in the January \u2013 April period totaled 1,779.7 thousand, a 44.4% decrease compared to the same period in 2019. Of the total arrivals, Romanian tourists represented 84%, while foreign tourists represented 16%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
