The number of hotels classified at 5 stars decreased by 4 units compared to the same period in 2019, down to 34.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Of the total number of places in hotels, 45.6% were in 3-star hotels, 28.4% were in 4-star hotels, 20.5% in 2-star hotels, 4% in 5-star hotels, 1.4% in 1-star hotels, and 0.1% in unclassified hotels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On July 31, 2020, there were 104 tourist reception structures with accommodation functions that were unclassified, most of them being student and preschool camps.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Of the 1,599 hotels in operation on July 31, 2020, a total of 2 hotels, with a total of 158 places, were not classified by stars.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Of the tourist reception structures with tourist accommodation functions, 27.5% were in mountain resorts, 18.4% in Bucharest and county residence cities (excluding Tulcea), 8.9% in seaside resorts (excluding Constan\u021ba), 7.2% in spa resorts, 3.2% in the Danube Delta (including Tulcea), and 34.8% were in other localities and tourist routes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The top seven counties, ranked by the total number of existing tourist reception structures, were: Bra\u0219ov (902 accommodation structures), Constan\u021ba (850), Suceava (496), Harghita (408), Mure\u0219 (363), Cluj (344), and Sibiu (318).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Of the total number of existing tourist accommodation places, Constan\u021ba County held 24.9%, Bra\u0219ov County 8%, followed by Bucharest with 6.1%, Bihor County with 4%, Cluj and Suceava counties each with 3.6%, V\u00e2lcea County with 3.2%, Mure\u0219 County with 3.1%, and Prahova County with 3%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Of the total of 163.2 thousand rooms existing in tourist reception structures with accommodation functions as of July 31, 2020 (excluding rooms in cottages), 98.4 thousand (60.3%) were in hotels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The number of rooms increased in 2020 by 1,488 in agritourism guesthouses and by 212 in tourist villas, and decreased by 1,290 in hotels. The number of tourist accommodation places existing on July 31, 2020, was 358.1 thousand.
