“Since the last appeal to the authorities on September 9, the spa and SPA industry has been waiting for a series of measures from them. Either the unrestricted opening of this activity sector or a series of measures aimed at avoiding the industry’s collapse, which, as OPTBR warned last month, is on the brink of bankruptcy, stating at that time that 60% of profile companies will not survive under current conditions until the end of 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Among the submitted requests are fiscal measures such as reducing taxes and duties during the state of alert based on hotel occupancy rates and reducing or eliminating the activity tax and mining royalty owed to the National Agency for Mineral Resources (ANRM), as well as measures such as extending technical unemployment, extending the salary support measure, or the possibility of employing retired persons in the industry without paying social contributions for them, except for a maximum tax of 10%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Additionally, proposals included granting funds without long-term conditions related to maintaining a high turnover level and a large number of employees, given the market uncertainty, granting holiday vouchers in 2021, and supporting specialized doctors and therapists in the industry.<\/p>\n\n\n
