Saturn, Venus, Cap Aurora, Jupiter, Neptun, Olimp &#8211; will pay a tax of 5 RON\/day per person, although there are also exempted categories, including pensioners, war veterans, and people arriving with treatment vouchers.<\/p>\n<p>The funds obtained in this way will be used for development and promotion, through projects initiated by the Tourist Destination Management Association.<\/p>\n<p>The special tax of 5 lei\/day\/tourist will be used for the development of tourist infrastructure and the maintenance of the Mangalia tourist destination, and for highlighting the tourist heritage in the municipality of Mangalia and its affiliated resorts.<\/p>\n<p>According to the Local Council decision, the special tax constitutes:<\/p>\n<p>a) the financing source necessary for the operation of the Mangalia Tourist Destination Management Association according to art.20 lit.i) Law no. 275\/2018 regarding the approval of Government Ordinance no. 15\/2017 for the modification and completion of Government Ordinance no. 58\/1998 regarding the organization and conduct of tourism activity in Romania;<\/p>\n<p>b) providing support for the development of tourist infrastructure, in order to increase the degree of visitor satisfaction in the destination;<\/p>\n<p>c) carrying out maintenance work on the tourist destination;<\/p>\n<p>d) coordinated management of the components of the Mangalia tourist destination;<\/p>\n<p>e) increasing quality and creating new public services for tourists.<\/p>\n<p>The Mangalia Destination Management Organization presents itself as the first destination management organization in Romania, with a primary role in the development of the resorts on the Southern Romanian Coast (Olimp, Neptun, Jupiter, Cap Aurora, Venus, Saturn, Mangalia), established in September 2019.<\/p>\n<h3>Frequently Asked Questions<\/h3>\n<p><strong>How much is the new tourist tax in Mangalia?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The tax is 5 RON per day per person for tourists visiting Mangalia and its surrounding resorts.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Who is exempt from paying the Mangalia tourist tax?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Exempted categories include pensioners, war veterans, and individuals visiting for medical treatment with specific vouchers.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What will the collected funds be used for?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The funds will be used for infrastructure development, maintenance, and the promotion of the southern Romanian seaside resorts.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Tourists visiting the southern coast will pay a tax of 5 RON\/day\/person Starting this year, tourists visiting the coast in Mangalia and its affiliated resorts &#8211;
