\u201dGiven all the uncertainties we face, we do not venture to build a budget for a period longer than three months. The most important element in this budget construction is the human resource; it has become the most significant expense in everything we do operationally,\u201d stated Radu Enache.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The personnel recruitment situation is so tragic that it is almost “impossible to find the human resource” necessary to satisfy the business’s growth needs. While before the pandemic the number of Continental Hotels employees amounted to 1,000, there are now around 350.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Without taking into account certain tourist areas where demand exceeds supply during certain periods of the year, Enache considers that the prices practiced in the hotel industry are inexplicably low.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This year, Continental Hotels is focusing on completing the renovation and rebranding of the four hotels owned under the Ibis name. Radu Enache specifies that the investment reaches approximately 6.85 million EUR.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The rebranding took place after the agreement between Continental Hotels and the French group Accor, signed 20 years ago, came to an end.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Two of the hotels, namely Continental Forum Constanta and Continental Forum near the Parliament, have already been reopened.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The owner of Continental stated that in the coming period, the two My Continental hotels, a new 3-star plus brand, are to be opened. The units will be opened in Bucharest and Sibiu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201eAfter these openings, we are stopping investments for this year because the effort has been quite large,\u201d states Radu Enache.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Regarding the coming years, Radu Enache specifies that he has plans for two new hotels, in Brasov and Iasi. In Brasov, a new Forum hotel with 150 rooms will be built between 2022-2024. In Iasi, the company plans to build a Forum hotel in the 2025-2026 period with 2020 rooms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
For the hotel in Brasov, Enache estimates an investment of 15 million EUR, while the hotel in Iasi is expected to benefit from approximately 22 million EUR.<\/p>\n\n\n
