The first commercial flight is estimated for 2024.

The capsule is built of aluminum, featuring 6 passenger seats, a toilet, a mini-bar, and Wi-Fi.

A journey is presented as lasting 5 hours, including 1 hour during which the balloon will maintain an altitude of 30-35 km. Upon descent, the balloon will be caught mid-air with a net attached between two helicopters.

AVA Space, headquartered in Sibiu, was founded in August by Victor Palagniuc, a national mathematics olympiad winner and the company’s CEO, together with Adelin Caracuda and Alin Hertoiu.

According to the description on the company’s website, the three have invested together in various companies and crypto projects, and with the funds obtained, they financed the development of the capsule up to the starting point. For the further development of the capsule, Ava Space has now launched a fundraising operation through a so-called tokenization process, in which it will issue digital representations, or tokens, of its own shares.

The company will issue 66,666 tokens at a price of $30/token. Each token will represent 10 shares in the company, with the total offer being equivalent to a 6% stake in the social capital.

AVA Space estimates it will become a strong competitor for companies in the space tourism industry, such as Virgin Galactic, Blue Origin, Space Perspective, EOS-X, and Zero2Infinity, and aims to reach a valuation of $1 billion.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is AVA Space?

AVA Space is Romania’s first space tourism startup, aiming to transport passengers to the stratosphere using pressurized capsules and hydrogen balloons.

How is the company raising funds?

The startup is seeking $2 million in funding through a tokenization process, issuing digital tokens that represent a 6% stake in the company’s equity.

When will the first commercial flights begin?

AVA Space estimates that its first commercial stratospheric flight will take place in 2024.

Romania’s first space tourism company seeks $2 million in funding The startup AVA Space, the first space tourism company in Romania, which aims to send passengers into the stratosphere using a pressurized capsule attached to a hydrogen balloon, is targeting a $2 million funding round for project development.
