According to a study conducted by Travel Planner based on data obtained from the Bulgarian Institute of Statistics, while Bulgaria was visited by 177,757 Romanians between May and August 2020, this year it was visited by 461,343 Romanians, an increase of 259.54%. In 2019, it was visited by 302,131.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In August alone, Bulgarian statistics recorded 250,613 Romanians, compared to 110,190 last year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Romanians were, once again this year, the primary tourists on the Bulgarian coast, alongside Bulgarians. Trailing behind, the ranking of foreign tourists is followed by Germany, Ukraine, Poland, Serbia, France, and the Netherlands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
30% of the total tourists on the Bulgarian coast this year were Romanians, out of a total of 1,532,505 tourists. Last year, albeit within the context of a much lower overall figure, Romanians represented nearly 40% of the total tourists, while in 2019, the last normal tourism year, they accounted for only 8.37%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to Travel Planner consultants, Romanians are already inquiring about ski and New Year’s Eve offers for Bulgaria’s mountain resorts, which continues to remain one of the preferred winter destinations.<\/p>\n\n
