At the same time, she specified that the project for protecting the Caraorman Forest, started in 2019, is nearly completed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The reserve governor did not mention which species were affected but pointed out that the landscape has suffered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Improvised access routes have led to habitat fragmentation and, last but not least, to the alteration of the landscape, which is currently one of the main attractions, because beyond identifying the species present, the landscape is what attracts you first. Now, by destroying the landscape, it is clear that there is not much reason left to visit the area. Before the start of the summer season, the study must be completed and the visiting zones in the delta must be established,&#8221; mentioned the Reserve governor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Caraorman Forest is the second strictly protected area in the Danube Delta, after Letea Forest, which is enclosed by a fence through a European project, with the total estimated budget of the project being 9.2 million RON.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since last year, the management of the Danube Delta Biosphere Reserve Administration (ARBDD) announced that it would re-examine the opportunity of conducting tourism activities in the Letea and Caraorman forests, after finding that both strictly protected areas where visitor access was allowed are under increased pressure.
