Overnight stays recorded in tourist reception structures in October 2021 totaled 1,364.3 thousand, an increase of 28.2% compared to October 2020. Of these, overnight stays by Romanian tourists represented 84%, while overnight stays by foreign tourists recorded a percentage of 16%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Regarding the number of overnight stays by foreign tourists in tourist reception structures, the largest share was held by those arriving from Europe – 75.1% of the total foreign tourists, and of these, 75.6% come from European Union countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The average length of stay in October 2021 was 2.1 days for Romanian tourists and 2.2 days for foreign tourists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The net utilization index of tourist accommodation places in October 2021 was 21.6% for total tourist accommodation structures, an increase of 4.1% compared to October 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Higher net utilization indices of accommodation places in October 2021 were recorded in hotels – 27.4%, accommodation spaces on ships – 19.5%, tourist villas – 16.1%, tourist pensions – 14.6%, hostels – 13.7%, motels – 13.4%, agritourism pensions and bungalows – each with 12.3%, and tourist chalets – 10.7%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Arrivals of foreign visitors to Romania recorded at border points were 613.4 thousand people in October 2021, an increase of 74.8% compared to October 2020. Road and air transport means were the most used for arrivals from abroad, representing 72.4% and 23.8%, respectively, of the total number of arrivals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Departures of Romanian visitors abroad recorded at border points were 1,015.9 thousand people in October 2021, an increase of 42.7% compared to October 2020. Road and air transport means were the most used for departures abroad, representing 58.9% and 40.5%, respectively, of the total number of departures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Arrivals recorded in tourist reception structures in the period January \u2013 October 2021 totaled 8,158.4 thousand people, an increase of 44.3% compared to the same period in 2020. Of these, 91.2% represented arrivals of Romanian tourists and 8.8% represented arrivals of foreign tourists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
