“There should be communication between all authorities that care for the Delta. I think we all agree that it is vital to protect biodiversity, but it is also important to protect the people who live here. Our film is about how you can achieve a balance between human needs and natural ecosystems. Here, tourism can be done, fish farming can also exist, and these activities can coexist without being to the detriment of nature. The Delta is not just the jewel in Romania’s crown in terms of tourism or biodiversity; it is also a place that must be protected for the future,” stated Charlie Ottley.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He advocated for fishermen to be better compensated and for tourism to be conducted responsibly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The British television producer expressed his hope to continue the collaboration to promote the Danube Delta as the “Amazon of Europe,” a goal confirmed by the leadership of the Danube Delta Tourism Destination Management Association (AMDTDD).<\/p>\n\n\n
