Izvoare mountain resort, located at an altitude of 900 m in the Gut\u00e2i Mountains, will rejoin the regional tourist circuit after 25 years since the cessation of winter season activities, stated the resort’s new manager, Flaviu Lese.<\/p>\n
“The first step was taken by putting the ski slope back into operation, and we are trying in the first stage to offer tourists, but especially locals, the opportunity to ski this winter. Our intention is to develop another ski slope, bring improvements and additional equipment to the one already in operation, and then focus on other investments. What is certain is that after nearly 25 years, during which the closest mountain resort to the municipality of Baia Mare was abandoned, it will now be modernized, equipped, and brought back to the attention of Romanian tourists, locals, and foreigners spending short vacations in Maramure\u0219,” stated Flaviu Lese.<\/p>\n
According to him, this summer, the three cabins will undergo an extensive process of modernization, equipping, and preparation for next year’s season.<\/p>\n
On the local real estate market, Izvoare resort was valued at over 4 million EUR, and two years ago, the Baia Mare City Hall announced its intention to purchase the domain, but eventually abandoned the investment.<\/p>\n
