Although prices will be higher than last year, hoteliers hope for a larger number of tourists compared to previous years affected by pandemic restrictions.<\/p>\n
This is also true in other countries such as Greece, Turkey, and France.<\/p>\n
The major challenge remains the staff shortage, with over 60,000 vacancies currently in Romania’s hotel industry.<\/p>\n
In addition to the more than 8,000 foreign employees working in our country’s hospitality industry, another solution could be the partnership between the educational system and hotels. Thus, some young people do internships in hotels, while others are even hired with permanent employment contracts.<\/p>\n
Salaries start from 2,300 RON net, with free accommodation and food added in some cases.<\/p>\n
These aspects were also debated during the “Open Doors Days in the Hospitality Industry” conference, organized by the Federation of the Hotel Industry in Romania (FIHR).<\/p>\n
Discussions also covered issues related to business and spa tourism. Solutions should be found for Romanian tourism even after the end of the summer season and until the end of the year.<\/p>\n
The second edition of the “Open Doors Days in the Hospitality Industry” event was organized by FIHR together with the Ministry of Education, the Association of Teachers and Mentors in Tourism \u2013 Edu4Tourism, the Association of Hotel and Tourism High Schools, and the French Institute in our country on May 6 and 7. During this period, several thousand pupils and students were present, hosted in 68 locations across 28 cities and resorts.<\/p>\n
