Standard C3 scanning equipment, more efficient and with faster processing capacity for checked baggage (CTX type), has been purchased for Avram Iancu International Airport in Cluj-Napoca. Thus, starting July 21, 2022, liquids and electronic devices no longer need to be removed from hand luggage during security checks.<\/p>\n
The cooperation between the Cluj airport, the SRI Antiterrorist Brigade, which provides security control, and the Romanian Aeronautical Authority, made this achievement possible.<\/p>\n
The Large Infrastructure Operational Program was accessed for the non-reimbursable financing worth 42.4 million LEI required for the purchase of security equipment. Of this amount, 28.2 million came from European funds, and the rest from the state budget.<\/p>\n
Additionally, two fire trucks (one for rapid intervention), 100 stretchers, 10 aluminized suits, and four defibrillators were purchased with non-reimbursable funds for emergency situations.<\/p>\n
