Government Modifies Tourism Investment Development Program<\/p>\n
On October 19, the Romanian Government modified the Masterplan for tourism investments\u2014approved by GD 558\/2017\u2014and the eligibility criteria for tourism investment projects.<\/p>\n
The approved decision stipulates that, in the case of certified spa and balneoclimatic resorts, funding will be provided for the construction\/rehabilitation\/modernization\/expansion of treatment bases, marked trails for terrain cures, promenade alleys, pump rooms, as well as the acquisition of equipment, furniture, and medical apparatus specific to balneal procedures and the tourist development of natural lakes with therapeutic properties.<\/p>\n
In the case of localities with natural therapeutic factors that are not certified as resorts, funds will be allocated for the first time for the construction of treatment bases with specific facilities.<\/p>\n
Ski domains will be financed as a whole. State budget funds will be granted for the construction\/rehabilitation\/modernization\/expansion of ski domains, including ski\/school slopes\/connecting trails, cable transport systems, conveyor belts for school slopes, tubing, night lighting systems, artificial snow systems, snow groomers, administrative buildings, parking lots, sledding slopes\/tracks, access roads, first aid posts, ice rink development\/rehabilitation, as well as infrastructure for summer leisure activities connected to ski domains.<\/p>\n
The program’s beneficiaries are administrative-territorial units represented by local public administration authorities, including the county council if the investment objectives are carried out on land in the public or private property of the county administrative-territorial units or under their administration, as well as administrative-territorial units that are members of inter-community development associations, established according to the law, for investments made through inter-community development associations.<\/p>\n
