Tourists visiting Deva Fortress starting this summer will be able to see all three of its areas. Works on the peak section of the fortress, also known as Enclosure 1, will be completed in a few months.<\/p>\n
The public administrator of Deva Municipality, Traian Berbeceanu, stated that the project is very advanced, so that upon its completion, the fortress can be visited in all its splendor. Additionally, works on the new cable car will also be finalized.<\/p>\n
“By the end of this project, hopefully, somewhere in the summer of this year, all three enclosures will be rehabilitated through European funds, and we will be able to organize events and utilize the Fortress Hill and the fortress itself to their maximum potential,” says Traian Berbeceanu.<\/p>\n
Enclosure 1 of the Fortress, which includes the section at the top of the hill where the historical monument is located, is being rehabilitated with European funds based on a contract worth nearly 5 million EUR. The contract was submitted to ADR West by the Deva City Hall.<\/p>\n
Enclosures 2 and 3 of the fortress were also rehabilitated with European funds, based on a financing worth 38.4 million RON. These two enclosures were opened to visitors in 2016.<\/p>\n
