A young family of IT professionals, passionate about architecture, has taken over the Udri\u0219te N\u0103sturel Mansion, a historic monument in Her\u0103\u0219ti, Giurgiu County. Andreea and R\u0103zvan M\u0103nescu have ambitious plans to restore the mansion and transform it into a cultural center.<\/p>\n
The Udri\u0219te N\u0103sturel Mansion is located 40 km from the center of Bucharest, on a plateau adjacent to the banks of the Arge\u0219 River.<\/p>\n
The mansion was built in the 17th century by Udri\u0219te N\u0103sturel, an important scholar, poet, and translator from Wallachia. The building is L-shaped and contains two dwellings, one for each of Udri\u0219te N\u0103sturel\u2019s brothers.<\/p>\n
The estate in Her\u0103\u0219ti, Giurgiu County, was passed down to heirs of the N\u0103sturel branch until 1830, when Constantin N\u0103sturel Herescu sold the property to the Serbian Prince Milo\u0161 Obrenovi\u0107 and donated part of the fortune to the Romanian Academy for the establishment of the N\u0103sturel Herescu prizes.<\/p>\n
The new owners will invest \u20ac2 million in the restoration of the mansion. They will renovate the building, set up exhibition spaces, and create a conference center. Additionally, they will offer accommodation for tourists.<\/p>\n
