Of the total hotels, 80.2% were classified as 3 and 4 stars. Constan\u021ba County concentrated the largest number of tourist accommodation structures, while the &#8220;Coastal zone, excluding Constan\u021ba city&#8221; offered the highest number of accommodation places.<\/p>\n<p>80.2% of hotels were classified as 3 and 4 stars Most hotels were in the 3-star category (54.5% of total hotels), 4 stars (25.6%), and 2 stars (15.4%). 5-star hotels numbered 44 (8 more than on July 31, 2022). Of the total number of places in hotels, 45.3% were in 3-star hotels, 31.9% were in 4-star hotels, 16.8% in 2-star hotels, 4.8% in 5-star hotels, 1.1% in 1-star hotels, and 0.1% in unclassified hotels.<\/p>\n<p>As of July 31, 2023, 141 tourist accommodation structures were unclassified (compared to 88 on the same date last year), most being in bungalows (34.8% of the total in 2023), student and preschool camps (31.9%), and of the 1,628 hotels in operation on July 31, 2023, 3 hotels (with a total of 168 places) were unclassified. Of the 3,591 apartments and rooms for rent, 4 apartments (with a total of 38 places) were unclassified.<\/p>\n<p>INS data also shows that, of the tourist accommodation structures (including apartments and rooms for rent), 29.1% were in &#8220;mountain resorts,&#8221; 16.2% in &#8220;Bucharest and county residence cities (excluding Tulcea city),&#8221; 10.9% in &#8220;coastal resorts (excluding Constan\u021ba city),&#8221; 7.4% in &#8220;spa resorts,&#8221; 3.9% in the &#8220;Danube Delta (including Tulcea city),&#8221; and 32.7% were in &#8220;other localities and tourist routes.&#8221; Constan\u021ba County concentrated the largest number of tourist accommodation structures. The top three counties, ranked by the total number of existing tourist accommodation structures (including apartments and rooms for rent), were: Constan\u021ba (1,498), Bra\u0219ov (1,253), and Suceava (810). Constan\u021ba County held the largest share (25.7%) of total rooms in accommodation structures (excluding rooms in cabins), followed by Bra\u0219ov County (7.9%) and Bucharest (6.5%). Of the total number of existing accommodation places, Constan\u021ba County held 25.7%, Bra\u0219ov County 7.9%, followed by Bucharest with 5.9%.<\/p>\n<p>Of the total 199.2 thousand rooms existing in accommodation structures as of July 31, 2023 (excluding rooms in cabins), 102.3 thousand (51.4%) were in hotels. In 2023 compared to 2022, the number of reported rooms increased by 3,908 in apartments and rooms for rent, 692 in hotels, 529 in agritourism guesthouses, while in tourist guesthouses (it decreased by 367 rooms).<\/p>\n<p>The number of accommodation places available on July 31, 2023, was 433.5 thousand. Most places, 205.5 thousand, were in hotels, followed by apartments and rooms for rent with 62.9 thousand places, agritourism guesthouses with 58.1 thousand, tourist guesthouses with 33.9 thousand, tourist villas with 17.5 thousand, and hostels with 13.5 thousand. According to the operation mode, 74.6% of total rooms were in permanent structures. Rooms with bath or shower represented 96.9% of total rooms (excluding rooms in cabins). In student and preschool camps, 50.9% of rooms were without bath or shower.<\/p>\n<p>The &#8220;Coastal zone, excluding Constan\u021ba city&#8221; offered the largest number of accommodation places.
