The event, which will represent the most significant summit of tourism professionals hosted by Romania in the last 15 years, will take place in Poiana Bra\u0219ov from June 13\u201314, continuing in Bra\u0219ov from June 14\u201315, 2024, and will bring together approximately 50 representatives from the leadership of European national associations, which group around 80,000 tour operators and travel agencies from Europe and other countries with a tourism tradition.<\/p>\n<p>According to the organizers, the event will be an extraordinary opportunity for national and local authorities, as well as ANAT members, to interact with representatives of the main tourism markets, thereby contributing to the consolidation of partnerships and the exchange of best practices within the tourism industry. Participants will also benefit from a program that will provide the opportunity to discover the beauty and tourism resources of the Bra\u0219ov area. Recently, Bra\u0219ov was included in the top 25 global destinations for 2024, according to rankings published by Tripadvisor, based on the recommendations of over 8 million tourists who have visited those locations.<\/p>\n<p>ANAT has been an associate member of ECTAA since 1999 and a full member since January 1, 2007, coinciding with Romania&#8217;s accession to the European Union. ANAT has previously hosted two ECTAA meetings in 2002 and 2007 in Bucharest, but the upcoming conference will gather more participants and offer more visibility, as it will also host the elections for ECTAA&#8217;s future leadership for the next two years.<\/p>\n<p>ECTAA was founded in 1961 in Bad Kreuznach (Federal Republic of Germany) by the national associations of travel agencies and tour operators from the 6 founding member states of the Common Market. Other national associations joined ECTAA with the successive expansions of the European Union, including Romania in 2007. ECTAA members are the national associations of EU member states, as well as Norway, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom.
