“A Government Decision adopted today approves the action plan for the implementation of the ecotourism strategy valid until 2029. This is a decision that defines the action plan for the implementation of this strategy, which has great potential to bring prosperity to communities where entrepreneurship exists to promote the nature and cultural heritage of our country. We believe it is a long-awaited document with great potential for growth and multiplication in the economy,” stated Mihai Constantin, the Government spokesperson.<\/p>\n
According to a Government statement, the decision completes and amends the National Ecotourism Development Strategy – context, vision, and objectives – 2019-2029.<\/p>\n
“Through this normative act, the action plan for the implementation of the ecotourism strategy is approved, as well as the modification of the criteria for recognizing ecotourism destinations. The purpose of the strategy and its action plan is to promote ecotourism as a primary form of tourism within destinations where nature and local culture occupy a central place and to increase the role that ecotourism plays in the economic development of these areas and in the prosperity of the local population,” mentions the Executive.<\/p>\n
Furthermore, the funding necessary to fulfill the objectives set out in the Strategy is provided within the limits of the commitment appropriations and budget appropriations approved annually for this purpose in the budgets of the involved institutions, as well as from other legally constituted sources, including European-funded programs and the PNRR.<\/p>\n
