Through his candidate program, Alin Burcea proposes to members an increase in the association&#8217;s reputation, a series of legislative changes to improve the activity of travel agencies, and the image of Romanian tourism and Romania on the international tourism map as his priorities for the next two years, according to a press release sent to the editorial office.<\/p>\n<p>According to the statement, his candidate program groups legislative priorities in the opinion of tourism operators, as well as proposals for streamlining the spending of public funds in the field:<\/p>\n<p>Improving O.G. 2\/2018, in the sense of reducing pressure on travel agencies and ensuring an equitable distribution of liability across the distribution chain<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Creating and operationalizing two essential guarantee funds for the functioning and development of the tourism industry in Romania: The Flight Ticket Guarantee Fund and the Travel Agency Insolvency Guarantee Fund<\/li>\n<li>Renegotiating de minimis schemes for incoming tourism, currently non-functional or difficult to access<\/li>\n<li>Supporting the creation\/operationalization of DMOs (Destination Management Organizations) to have promotion funds<\/li>\n<li>Amending procurement legislation and requesting an appropriate budget for promoting Romania as a destination<\/li>\n<li>Increasing ANAT&#8217;s representativeness by attracting new members<\/li>\n<li>Supporting the re-establishment of the ANAT Training Center as a benchmark in the field of organizing specialized tourism courses<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Alin Burcea created the National Association of Travel Agencies, along with other tourism operators, in 1990, shortly after establishing his own travel agency, Paralela45, on April 5, 1990, exactly 34 years ago.
