Romania is taking the step already taken by other European countries that present tourists not only with visually spectacular castles, mansions, or cathedrals, but also with gastronomy, cultural experiences, fortifications, ruins, walls, or foundations of architectural or archaeological sites that offer historically significant information for each country.

The program begins with the first 12 routes, building the infrastructure for cultural tourism—a niche not strategically addressed until now. These are described in dozens of multimedia materials that tell their story through historical data, as well as through the legends and people who made them valuable. This is the foundation upon which the creative concept of the communication campaign accompanying the program was built. “Every step tells a story” is the essence of the promise to the cultural tourist, where every step creates a connection with people, the stories they tell, or the things they do. The concept’s rationale focuses on the Attractive Romania digital platform, the most complex aggregator of stories and legends regarding Romanian cultural-historical sites.

Attractive Romania will have its own visual identity, which will complete the tourist’s travel experience through ancient Romanian history and culture. Beyond the program’s motto, Attractive Romania is the first official program to highlight the national flower of Romania, the peony. The visual identity was developed by the combined teams of Eventya and its supplier, Carre Noir, the branding and design studio part of Publicis Groupe Romania.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the main goal of the Attractive Romania program?

The program aims to promote 275 lesser-known cultural heritage sites across 12 thematic routes to boost authentic cultural tourism in Romania.

How is this cultural tourism project being funded?

The project is a national initiative funded through the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR) of the European Union.

When will the digital platform for tourists be accessible?

The multimedia platform, which includes both a website and a mobile app, is scheduled for its official launch in May 2024.

Attractive Romania, the national program for supporting cultural tourism, funded through the NRRP (PNRR), will be launched in May 2024 and will provide tourists with a multimedia platform that will guide them toward authentic vacations and original experiences.
