Modernization works at the Delta Danube Airport in Tulcea were completed this spring, bringing the facility up to Schengen standards.<\/p>\n
The expansion and modernization of the airport were carried out over 18 months, preceded by a two-month design phase.<\/p>\n

The works at the Tulcea airport included: the modernization and expansion of the passenger terminal, modernization of the boarding-disembarking platform by constructing an assembly consisting of a 9-meter fixed tunnel and a 32-meter mobile tunnel, modernization of Taxiway Alpha (originally built in 1973), and the construction of a dedicated platform for aircraft de-icing and anti-icing activities.<\/p>\n
With a total floor area of 9,300 square meters, the Delta Danube International Airport in Tulcea also features a control system with three security filters for passengers, six booths for the Border Police, five check-in counters, and three boarding gates.<\/p>\n
Discussions are currently underway for regular flights, but nothing has been signed so far.<\/p>\n
Following the modernization works, the passenger terminal will be able to serve a passenger traffic of up to 400 people per hour, offering an increased level of comfort for passengers.<\/p>\n
