Accor, a world leader in hospitality, is strengthening its presence in Hungary by announcing the future opening of Swiss\u00f4tel Budapest Lagoon. This flagship project results from a partnership between Accor and the Swiss real estate company Forty Management. The property is scheduled to open in 2028 and marks the premium brand’s debut in Hungary.<\/p>\n
With 200 rooms and suites overlooking a state-of-the-art artificial lagoon on the banks of the Danube, the ESG-compliant project will become a landmark of hospitality innovation in the region. Lagoon City is an ecological and urban reconversion of a former industrial area and will be 100% energy self-sustainable, thanks to green technologies such as solar panels and heat pumps.<\/p>\n
Founded in 1980, the premium Swiss\u00f4tel brand is deeply rooted in the tradition of Swiss hospitality. By embodying the idea of “living well,” it blends timeless heritage with thoughtful modern design and a deliberate approach to sustainability.<\/p>\n
The new Swiss\u00f4tel property will serve as the hospitality hub for Central District Lagoon City, a vibrant community built around an artificial lagoon of at least 10,000 sqm with crystal-clear water and 3,500 sqm of fine sand beaches.<\/p>\n
Central District Lagoon City is developed by Forty Management, a Swiss real estate developer of innovative mixed-use and urban reconversion projects, wholly owned by the Romanian company Forty Management S.A.<\/p>\n
The complex will be located on the eastern bank of a secondary branch of the Danube, in the Pesterzs\u00e9bet district of Budapest, Hungary’s capital. Swiss\u00f4tel Budapest Lagoon comes with a complete hospitality package and exclusive access to the private lagoon and beach area, which will be transformed into an ice-skating rink during winter. The hotel will feature 200 rooms and suites, two restaurants, a lobby bar, spa, wellness and fitness facilities, a conference room, and a 200-space parking lot.<\/p>\n
The hotel operator selection process was coordinated with the support of Mircea Ioan Dr\u0103ghici, managing partner of Est Hospitality Consulting.<\/p>\n
