The year of its foundation is considered to be 1785.<\/p>\n<p>Historical tradition states that the land where the monastery stands today was donated by the boyar Casian Suruceanu, a former captain and official from the free peasant village of Suruceni, while a hieromonk named Iosif, arriving from Montenegro, with the help of a group of villagers, cleared the forested land and began the construction of a wooden church dedicated to St. George.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Condri\u021ba Monastery<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Condri\u021ba Monastery is an Orthodox monastery in the Republic of Moldova. It is dedicated to Saint Hierarch Nicholas and is located in the village of Condri\u021ba, situated on the Catargul stream, 15 km from the Str\u0103\u0219eni railway station and 26 km from the municipality of Chi\u0219in\u0103u.<\/p>\n<p>The monastery was first founded as a hermitage in 1783 by the hieromonk Iosif, who came from the C\u0103priana Monastery. In 1918, the Condri\u021ba monk hermitage separated from the C\u0103priana Monastery, becoming an independent monastery.
