The project, partly financed by the European Union&#8217;s Modernization Fund, aims to make the airport energy self-sufficient by 2027 and reduce carbon emissions.  <\/p>\n<p>The total value of the investment is 55,552,085.01 lei (about EUR 10.91 million, VAT included). The non-reimbursable financing from European funds amounts to 30,449,087.00 lei (about EUR 5.98 million, VAT excluded), the remaining 25,102,998.01 lei (about EUR 4.93 million) being the airport&#8217;s own contribution. The project, with an implementation period of 12 months from 2026 to 2027, is funded under Key Program 9: Energy Efficiency in Transport.  <\/p>\n<p>The photovoltaic park will cover an area of about 8 hectares and will include the installation of about 7,500 panels with a production capacity of 4.99 MW. The system will be complemented by 12 MWh of energy storage capacity and 300 kWt of heat pumps.
