In 2025, the airport saw an increase of more than 9% in passenger traffic compared to the previous year, with a monthly average of more than 250,000 travelers and a peak of 360,000 in August. The route network includes over 40 scheduled destinations and up to 15 charter destinations, with a balanced distribution between Schengen and Non-Schengen traffic. Direct connections to European hubs such as Bucharest, Istanbul, Munich and Zurich strengthen the airport’s strategic position. Management continues to invest in infrastructure and operational capacity, with a long-term goal of 10 million passengers by 2045. <\/p>\n
Passenger number 3,000,000 was a customer of the airline Animawings, which significantly expanded its operations at the Cluj airport in 2025. The operator offers scheduled flights to Bucharest (up to 14 weekly frequencies) and Istanbul (2 weekly frequencies), along with seasonal charter flights to destinations such as Heraklion, Zakynthos, Rhodos, Larnaca, Antalya and Hurghada, contributing to the region’s air connectivity.
