Romania’s main cities have announced the official calendar for the Christmas fairs for the 2025-2026 season, large-scale events that are an important driver for domestic tourism and local trade during the winter holidays. The organizers are counting on attracting a large number of visitors, continuing the tradition of previous years with offers combining traditional crafts, local gastronomy and various attractions. The first fairs will open in mid-November in Sibiu and Craiova. <\/p>\n
The confirmed Christmas fair schedule for 2025 includes staggered openings in major urban centers. In Sibiu and Craiova, events will start on November 14, 2025 and end on January 4, 2026. In Cluj-Napoca, the period will run from November 21, 2025 to January 1, 2026, and in Timisoara, from November 23, 2025 to January 7, 2026. Other dates announced are: Oradea (November 28 – December 26, 2025), Ia\u0219i (November 30, 2025 – January 5, 2026) and Sighi\u0219oara (December 1, 2025 – January 4, 2026). In Bucharest, the Christmas Fair in Constitution Square is scheduled for November 29 – December 28, 2025, while the dates for the West Side Christmas Market (Drumul Taberei Park) and Laminor Winter Wonderland are yet to be announced. <\/p>\n
Organizers in Sibiu, where the 2024 edition attracted more than 500,000 visitors, have announced that the 2025 edition will focus on authenticity and Romanian cultural values, with the selection of exhibitors finalized in May. Previous editions of the fairs have been distinguished by specific attractions: Bucharest hosted more than 130 booths in Constitution Square, Sibiu featured a 22-meter panoramic Ferris wheel, and Timisoara installed the largest panoramic Ferris wheel in the country. In Oradea, facilities included a 480-square meter ice rink in Ferdinand Square, while an amusement park in Iasi completed the commercial offer.
