The initiative, discussed at a public debate organized by the IPN news agency, aims to turn the tourism potential of the three countries into an engine of economic growth through cross-border cooperation. <\/p>\n<p>The main project is the creation of the Iasi-Chisinau-Odesa route, which includes both a road and rail component. According to Sergiu Manea, president of the Moldovan Tourism Industry Employers&#8217; Association, there has been lobbying in the European Parliament for the extension of the Union Highway along this stretch, an initiative now being taken up for implementation by the Chisinau government. A second project aims to launch a tourist rail section on the same route. Due to the military conflict in Ukraine, the connection of the Chisinau-Odesa segment is suspended, but implementation will resume as soon as security conditions allow. On the Romanian side, Drago\u0219 R\u0103ducan, president of the Federation of Romanian Tourism Employers, confirmed his support for the concept, emphasizing that Romania and the Republic of Moldova can form an attractive joint destination. Information visits have already been initiated for tour operators from both countries to promote the route as a unique circuit for European and Asian tourists.     <\/p>\n<p>In the context of these plans, Moldovan industry representative Sergiu Manea emphasized the need for a new governmental approach in the tourism sector. He noted that after the disbanding of the Tourism Agency in 2018, the sector was left without centralized coordination, with responsibilities dispersed among several institutions.
