The 7th edition of the Global Medical Tourism Forum took place in Chisinau. During the five panel discussions, professionals from the fields of tourism, health and new technologies discussed the challenges of global medical tourism, including the advantages of new technology and Artificial Intelligence in patient care, MOLDPRES reports. <\/p>\n
Present at the event, the Minister of Culture, SErgiu Prodan, said that the Forum is a strategic platform for dialog, innovation and international collaboration in support of a booming industry.<\/p>\n
“It is an event synonymous with our mission to transform tourism into an engine of understanding, respect and progress,” said Sergiu Prodan.<\/p>\n
During the meeting, the participants talked about the prospects and possibilities of development of the Republic of Moldova as a reference destination in medical tourism, but also about the investment opportunities that our country has.<\/p>\n
“In order for Moldova to reach one billion euros in medical tourism revenues in the next ten years, it needs to facilitate patient access to eVisa and continue to promote medical tourism, as it has done in the last two years,” emphasized GHTC founder Emin Cakmak.<\/p>\n
During the Forum, the next country to take over the chairmanship of the GHTC for the next two years was chosen. There were two candidates: Saudi Arabia and Poland. <\/p>\n
In a secret ballot of the GHTC member countries, with only one vote difference – Poland came out on top. It will take over the presidency from April next year, when Moldova’s term ends. <\/p>\n
