Data shows that rates were not only competitive, but often more favorable than in established foreign destinations. <\/p>\n<p>According to the comparison based on the Holiday Money Report 2025 and prices in Romania, the &#8220;holiday basket&#8221; (eight common tourist products and services) cost:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>68 \u20ac (345 lei) on the Romanian coast;<\/li>\n<li>\u20ac80.26 (400 lei) in Sunny Beach, Bulgaria (+13.9% vs. 2024);<\/li>\n<li>\u20ac99.39 (504 lei) in Marmaris, Turkey (+26% vs. 2024).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>FPTR underlines that the VAT increase that came into force on August 1, 2025 (standard rate 21%, single reduced rate 11%) did not affect tariffs, the additional costs being absorbed by operators.<\/p>\n<p>Although the use of holiday vouchers fell by around 75%, the seaside saw a 5.9% increase in demand in the first 3 months of the season, confirming the preference of tourists for domestic destinations. But the most affected by the decline in vouchers were seaside resorts, mountain resorts and rural inns. <\/p>\n<p>To maintain competitiveness, FPTR proposes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>fiscal stability and legislative predictability<\/li>\n<li>continued investment in services and infrastructure<\/li>\n<li>Intensive promotion of domestic destinations nationally and internationally<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&#8220;These figures clearly show that the Romanian seaside offers an advantageous value for money, comparable and even superior to other popular destinations.
