The move signals a new stage of maturity for one of Romania&#8217;s most successful destinations, aiming to move from organic growth to sustainable, planned and internationally competitive development. <\/p>\n<p>After two decades of constant investment in infrastructure, heritage and events, which have consolidated its fame, Sibiu City Hall, under the leadership of Mayor Astrid Fodor, is now aiming for a strategic repositioning. The vision is to transform Sibiu into a year-round, not just seasonal, relevant destination through the active involvement of the local community and the tourism business environment. <\/p>\n<p>In order to ensure a high level of expertise, the City Hall concluded, following a public tender, a consultancy contract with an association formed by Brandberry, GMP Community, The Engine Marketing and Horwath HTL Romania, the local subsidiary of one of the global leaders in consultancy for the hotel and tourism industry. The presence of an international player underlines the ambition of the project, which will be finalized within 5 months. <\/p>\n<p>The new strategy will focus on clear objectives designed to generate added value:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Brand and Positioning:<\/b> Strengthening Sibiu as a leading cultural-tourist destination in Europe.<\/li>\n<li><b>Tourist Offer:<\/b> Creating a diversified and coherent portfolio, integrating culture, gastronomy, nature and events.<\/li>\n<li><b>Economic Performance:<\/b> Increasing the average length of stay, attracting segments of tourists with high financial potential and stimulating new investments in the sector.<\/li>\n<li><b>Innovation:<\/b> Integrating digital technologies to improve visitor experience and destination management.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This strategic move marks a key moment in Sibiu&#8217;s evolution, ensuring its transition into a mature destination, able to compete effectively in an increasingly dynamic global market.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sibiu&#8217;s local government has launched a key strategic project for the city&#8217;s economic future, contracting a consortium of specialized firms to draw up a 10-year tourism development strategy.
