The modernization works of the instrument landing system (ILS) at Suceava International Airport \u201cStefan cel Mare\u201d will start soon, after the President of Suceava County Council, Gheorghe \u0218oldan, signed the contract for the works on Tuesday, June 10.<\/p>\n
\u201cToday we have signed the contract for the execution of works for the modernization of the Instrument Landing System (ILS) at the airport,\u201d announced \u0218oldan. The contract is worth about RON 2.3 million (excluding VAT) and the works have been awarded to UTI Construction and Facility Management, based in Bucharest. The estimated time of completion is no more than 7 months, and the interventions will be carried out without affecting the airport’s daily activity, said the president of Suceava CJ. <\/p>\n
After completion of the works, there will be a period of about 3 months for testing and flight tests, which will be carried out by ROMATSA R.A., according to the regulations in force. The investment benefits from a 60-month guarantee and the financing is already provided from the Suceava County Council budget. <\/p>\n
\u201cThis investment aims to remedy one of the biggest vulnerabilities of our airport – the lack of a high-performance ILS system, which has been an obstacle for attracting air operators until now\u201d, explained Gheorghe Soldan.<\/p>\n
He added that, if the work goes according to plan, Suceava will become \u201cthe second airport in Romania equipped with a state-of-the-art ILS system\u201d by the end of this year.<\/p>\n
In parallel, the county authorities have also started the procedures for the modernization of the embarkation-disembarkation platform, a project with an estimated value of 8 million lei, also financed from the county budget. The public procurement procedure for the works has already been launched through SEAP. <\/p>\n
These projects come in the context of a growing interest in developing the county’s infrastructure and attracting new air routes connecting Suceava with other regions in Europe.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
