The Ministry of Economy, Entrepreneurship and Tourism (MEAT) has approved the establishment of the Destination Management Organization (DMO) “Dan Danube C\u0103l\u0103r\u0103\u0219ean\u0103”. The new entity, formed by the C\u0103l\u0103ra\u0219i County Council, Albatros Horeca SRL and Casa din Vis Baciu SRL, will have the role of elaborating and implementing the county’s tourism development and marketing strategy. The DMO “C\u0103l\u0103r\u0103\u0219ean Danube” aims to achieve several key objectives, among which are to increase the capitalization of the tourism potential, to create a framework for planning and collaboration between tourism structures, as well as to actively promote the natural and cultural attractions of C\u0103l\u0103ra\u0219i County. The three founding members are also committed to increasing the visibility and prestige of the tourist destination they represent. Among the actions already underway is the construction of the C\u0103l\u0103ra\u0219i tourist port, financed by the “Masterplan for Investments in Tourism”. It will serve as a connecting point for visitors to the legends and traditions of the Danube Region, through the implementation of the “Green and Mystical Danube Storytelling Route” project. The C\u0103l\u0103ra\u0219i County Council, one of the founding members of the WCO “The C\u0103l\u0103r\u0103\u0219ean Danube”, is a strategic partner of this initiative, which aims to create a new transnational thematic route. The county of C\u0103l\u0103ra\u0219i offers tourists various attractions such as picturesque cloisters or the Valea Ro\u0219ie lake, famous for its salt water with therapeutic properties. C\u0103l\u0103ra\u0219i Zoo is home to 89 animal species, including Romania’s only hippopotamus. Other examples include the Museum of the Gumelni\u021ba Civilization, which offers a captivating glimpse into the past, and the Jeg\u0103lia Stud Farm, which has a history stretching back over a century. In order to set up the county WCO, there must be at least 1,000 accommodation places in the classified tourist accommodation facilities in the destination. In addition, at least one tourist destination manager must be included in the organizational structure. As regards the tourism development and marketing strategy and action plan, these may be developed and adopted no later than one year after the establishment of the entity. The reform of MDGs is also included in the National Recovery and Resilience Plan, Component 11: Tourism and Culture.
