The first slow tourism route between Tulcea and Mila 23 has been launched on the water in the Danube Delta.
\nThe idea was the brainchild of multiple champion Ivan Patzaichin, who wanted to create a unique experience near his home town.
\nThe route was launched as part of a caravan organized during the festival dedicated to the great athlete.
\nDozens of kayaks and non-motorized boats set off from Tulcea on the unique 55-kilometer route.
\nThe idea for the Danube Delta’s first slow-tourism route was the brainchild of the great champion Ivan Patzaichin, who passed away three years ago.
\nTeodor Frolu, vice-president of the Ivan Patzaichin Association – Mile 23: “After two days of paddling, we will reach the Ivan Patzaichin Museum and we can say that we have created a new tourist, memorial and cultural infrastructure unique in Romania”.
\nThe route was approved by the Administration of the Danube Delta Biosphere Reserve.
\nThe institution also announced a new camping regulation in the reserve.
\nUntil now, this was penalized.
\nBogdan Bulete, governor of the Danube Delta: “They are called ‘slow tourism accommodation points’.
\nIn principle, from 6 in the evening until 7 or 8 the next morning, they will be able to camp legally in the reserve.
\nAll permits for camping will be for a fee will be around 50 RON”.
