Travel agency Paralela45 has launched a market premiere in Romania: direct charter flights to Bangkok, Thailand, scheduled for the autumn-winter season. The official launch event took place on Thursday, September 24, at the Royal Thai Embassy in Bucharest, with the new routes set to be operated in partnership with Polish carrier LOT Polish Airlines using Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft.
The expansion of operations into the exotic holiday segment follows Paralela45’s merger with regional tour operator Rainbow Tours, a transaction that increases access to long-haul flight capacity toward destinations such as Thailand, Vietnam, Mexico, and the Dominican Republic. To attract clients from outside the capital, the company introduced the connectGO booking system for the 2026/2027 season, which provides travelers from Cluj-Napoca, Iași, Oradea, and Timișoara with a domestic connecting flight to Bucharest and an overnight stay near the airport.
The announced packages target the period between January 1 and March 12, 2027, offering resort stays, cultural tours, and a combined 7+7 package (seven nights touring and seven nights at a resort). Prices for resort stays start from EUR 1.28 thousand per person at four-star hotels and from EUR 1.36 thousand per person with breakfast included. Cultural tours to temples, floating markets, and the ancient royal capitals of Ayutthaya and Sukhothai—with optional extensions to Cambodia, Laos, and Vietnam—start from EUR 1.78 thousand per person, while the 7+7 option starts at EUR 2.29 thousand per person.
According to Ambassador Phuchphop Mongkolnavin, Thailand welcomed 58,493 Romanian tourists in 2025. Overall, the destination attracted nearly 33 million international visitors last year, including more than 10.8 million long-haul travelers, according to the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), which reported over 14 million international arrivals in the first half of 2026. Ioana Burcea, Member of the Board of Directors at Paralela45, highlighted that the new direct flight via Bangkok reinforces Romanian travelers’ access to Southeast Asia’s extensive cultural and tourism heritage.
