ROMANIAN HOSPITALITY NEWSLETTER(RHN) is a news portal specialized in the hospitality industry, operated by the hospitality consultancy FIVESTAR HOSPITALITY.
The consulting company FIVESTAR HOSPITALITY registered its first client in 2004.
Since 2005 we have been broadcasting the HHN (first without a website, then with a website launched in 2007 and relaunched in 2020) recording everything relevant to the sector and providing free access to the entire news archive (currently around 20,000 articles).
Selective translations of English-language articles have been replaced by a real-time translation technology based on artificial neural networks which is now able to achieve a translation quality rating of 8.3 out of 10, compared to 8.5 for the average translator.
The RHN project has always been a non-profit activity of the consulting company FIVESTAR HOSPITALITY.
RHN advocates the cause of the development of the hotel, tourism and recreation industry in Romania.
How have we managed to send out this weekly newsletter for more than 17 years?
With the support of a person who has been with us throughout this period but who from the 2022/2023 season will no longer be able to fulfill the role of Newsletter Editor for us.
At Fivestar Hospitality everything from the very beginning has been based on building a solid reputation client by client.
The RHN has contributed to this philosophy because readers have seen the consistency with which over the years we have delivered value to them, saving them the time of searching for news in their area of interest, keeping them well informed about what is happening in this industry in Romania, offering them for free, in fact a portal of relevant news presented synthesized and transparent in terms of sources, without any editorial activity of their own.
What have we achieved so far in our core business at Fivestar Hospitality?

Almost a hundred companies have called upon our services in these 18 years of activity.
Alexandru-Sorin Ionescu, the undersigned, founder and director of the company, personally worked in these various projects and coordinated other consultants from home and abroad to bring them to a successful conclusion.
Among the hotels in the market where we have contributed are Doubletree by Hilton Oradea, Mercure Bucharest City Center, Hampton by Hilton Cluj Napoca, Hilton Garden Inn Bucharest Airport but also many other properties without international brand. We need help in producing the ROMANIAN HOSPITALITY NEWSLETTER starting October 2022! We need an independent person who can build on the experience of our current Newsletter Editor but who can also improve their own results from issue to issue, take responsibility and deliver results without being held by the hand.
We are currently looking for a collaboration for the next role:
Newsletter Editor (part time – approx 6-8 h per week / 3-4 days per month)
The responsibilities of this role:
The person in question will most likely have another main activity and the activity proposed by us will be a complement to that activity.
The person’s main activity will allow them once a day to check an inbox configured by us to receive news alerts from the hospitality, tourism and other leisure industry and to select one or two relevant news items for the weekend.
Depending on the schedule in the main activity the person can choose to process the respective news on the spot in the sense of entering them into our portal using the administrative interface or postpone this processing for the weekend, obviously there is no problem even if checking the news alerts does not take place even on a daily basis.
The news processing also involves a somewhat more concise act of presenting the news with the complete avoidance of copying the text.
It is very important to us that the text entered is grammatically correct and has a decent level of diacritics.
The preparation stage of the newsletter will take place in the contributor’s free time at the end of one, two or three days of the week depending on the day agreed for the newsletter and involves processing selected news items from the news alerts that arrive in his/her inbox and the graphic layout of the newsletter in the wordpress module which does not require any technical knowledge.
- Relevant news is selected according to our editorial policy;
- Any selected news is entered on the rhn.ro website from the administration section, aiming to keep essential data and a more effective communication with readers who want to be perfectly informed, saving precious time without consulting other publications, having a “guarantee” that they find everything that is important / relevant to the hospitality industry;
- Set up the newsletter campaign template in the administration module of the rhn.ro website, add any banners and advertising links (follow up the obligations to broadcast promotional banners according to advertising contracts) and then announce the finalization of the edition preparation;
- The director makes final checks, maintains or changes the news edition and schedules the campaign for automatic broadcast the following day, which is also the day firmly set for broadcast (ideally either at the beginning of the week or the end of the week).
Again, we are not looking for a full time person for this position.
We are looking for a person who is available for an extra activity that will add about 4 days of work per month (after the learning curve of about 3 days) to their own activities.
Remuneration for this activity will be a fixed amount per month, even if some weeks there is less news and some weeks a little more.

If the person also has telephone and email interaction skills with companies potentially interested in promoting via the newsletter we can also agree to allocate a significant percentage of the advertising revenue attracted but remember that this is only to cover part of the costs of producing the Romanian Hospitality Newsletter.
This role suits you perfectly if you have a part or full time job, and at the core you are someone who loves correct expression in Romanian, know English at a professionally acceptable level and generally like to read and find out what is happening faster than others.
Your affinity with our industry is a plus even if you love hotels and traveling for strictly personal reasons.
Our weekly campaigns reach over 10,000 people so the quality of our copy is important as is our desire to maintain an excellent professional image.
At the same time we emphasize that although it could be another advantage it does not require skills from the journalism spectrum as we do not produce news but only pick up relevant news that has been published in other media channels. How do you apply for the role of Newsletter Editor?
